Sundarams spreads its wings to Mohali
What’s a favourite with the Punjabi palate after tandoori delectables and Chinese fare? Its for sure south Indian cuisine. Theres something about those fluffy idlis and crisp dosas that get foodies in the region to get indulgent. Offering all-new reason in Mohali is Sundarams,the south Indian fast food chain that formally got rolling its first franchisee outlet in Phase 3B2. We have had many diners coming in from Mohali to our Sector 26 outlet requesting us to open shop closer home. Since there werent very many options with regards to authentic south Indian cuisine,we decided to get going, mentioned restaurateur S Sundaram at the launch of the new eatery. Split into two levels,the restaurant offers 120 covers and an impressive line-up of dishes. While theres the popular dosa and uthapam varieties,one can also choose from special meals like Butter Adai Aviyal and Kerala Parantha with Korma alongside some special combos like 3 Taste Dosa and 3 Taste Uthapam. These are own creations wherein diners will get three types of mini dosas in one meal, explains Sundaram. So the 3 Taste Dosa offers Mysore dosa,rava dosa and masala dosa all in one plate. Likewise,3 Taste Uthapam packs in a paneer,onion and mixed vegetable versions. Also to please all palates,the original menu has been fattened up. Apart from south Indian fare,diners can choose from a north Indian thali and Chinese vegetarian cuisine. Its an attempt to reach out to a wider audience, admits Sundaram as he goes on to add,since have a large number of north Indian customers coming in and being a family restaurant,there has been a demand for north Indian delicacies and Chinese,especially when children accompany the family. So the menu now also boasts of channa bhatura and a robust Indian thali but its the dosa you must dig into!
