Composer, singer & lyricist Atul is ‘surviving’ the electronic attack

In the times of technocrats and electronic wave,he wants to leave a legacy of real music. “Soft, melodious, intellectually worded and composed music,” says Atul Bhardwaj, singer, composer and lyricist, all of 20,from Solan. In town for a gig at DT’s Black Magic, this young musician is ‘surviving the attack of the electronica’. “My forte and passion lies in country music, blues, soft rock and romantic numbers,” he says, absorbing influences of melodious kind from wherever he can. “Music has always been an integral part of my life,” says the man from the mountains, who has explored a new genre which is not jazz, not rock, not classical but ‘you’,an expression of your beliefs, thoughts and personality. “I started playing, composing, singing eight years back. I’ve performed at with several projects, travelled to music festivals, and also composed acoustic theme music for a short film called ‘A window in my room’ directed through NID (National Institute of Design) which surprisingly reached the International Film Festival!” At present,Atul is working on a project named ‘Mountain Blues’ along with Suhani,Shanky and Simar for ICan records. “This one has a flavour of country, folk and deep intellectual music with an alternate sound,” he wraps up.
