SOPU submits memorandum highlighting students’ problems

Showcasing a race for having maximum number of protests and submission of memorandums to their credit among various student parties,members of Students’ Organisation of Panjab University in response to the protests carried out by their contending party submitted a memorandum highlighting the student related issues.

Says ‘infighting has made PUSU-led Student Council a complete failure’

Showcasing a race for having maximum number of protests and submission of memorandums to their credit among various student parties,members of Students’ Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) in response to the protests carried out by their contending party (PUSU) submitted a memorandum highlighting the student related issues.

SOPU president Robin Brar submitted a memorandum concerning various demands that would benefit the students who live in the hostels. They also availed the chance to blame the ruling body claiming,“It was a complete failure of the PUSU-led Student Council who were busy in sorting out there internal rift.”

The various issues taken up by the party were installation of water coolers on all the floors of hostels with full maintenance of hygiene,maintenance of proper water supply in all the girls and boys hostels,linking of the girls’ hostels (7-5-4-3-6) internally,girl’s hostellers allowed to move within their hostel premises after 9.30 pm,installation of spinning machines in the girl’s hostel as they don’t have space to dry the clothes,canteen should remain open late night or install instant coffee machines,especially in the exams,proper lighting and security to be provided from the main library to hostels,removal of fine Rs 4 imposed on the girls in hostel if they don’t take their meals,removal of charges for keeping laptops in both boys and girls hostels,proper and high speed wi-fi connectivity in all hostels at free of cost,shop at girls hostel number,installation of sheds in the parking lots of remaining girl’s hostel,proper patrolling of the route linking the market and girls hostel to prevent eve teasing.

The Dean Students’ Welfare assured the students that the genuine demands would be met.
