SIT formed to probe Monika death case

The family of the 32-year-old computer teacher,Monika Goyal,who had allegedly committed suicide,gave an application to the Senior Superintendent of Police,Naunihal Singh stating that they were not satisfied by the inquiries made by the police in the case till date.

The family of the 32-year-old computer teacher,Monika Goyal,who had allegedly committed suicide,gave an application to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP),Naunihal Singh stating that they were not satisfied by the inquiries made by the police in the case till date.

To satisfy Monika’s family,the SSP constituted a special investigation team (SIT) which will now investigate the case. The SIT will be headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) East Vijay Kumar. The team will comprise of Station House Officer (SHO),Police Station,Sector 19,Harjit Kaur and Inspector Ranjodh Singh from the Crime Branch.

The police officers in the SIT say that they will consider all the details of the case. They also said that expert opinions will be taken. “Efforts will be made to clear off the doubts raised by Monica’s parents”,said one of the officers.

Monika Goyal,a teacher and mother of a seven year old was allegedly harassed by her in-laws. Bearing the tortue,Monica allegedly committed suicide on October 15. However,Monika’s parents allege that she had been murdered.
