Sikhya School emerged as winners with 11 points in the Sixth Junior Girls Boxing State Championship which concluded at Sports Complex,Sector 42 on Sunday. Government Model School,Sector 18 claimed the second spot as they finished with six points.

On the concluding day,Pooja Kumar of Sikhya School,Sector 46 emerged as the winner in the 57 Kg category as she defeated Devika of SD Club in the final. In the 46 Kg category,Kiran of SVM,Sector 40 emerged as the winner as she ended the challenge of Reeta of Sikhya School in the final. Karamjot of Government Model School,Sector 18 emerged as the winner in the 48 Kg category as she ended the challenge of Sangeeta of Government High School,Sector 7. In the 52 kg final,Preeti of Sikhya Club lost to Sarabjeet of Sikhya School while in the 54 Kg category,Rukhsana of Sikhya School lost to Neha of SD club. In the 60 Kg category,Sandeep of SNK,Sector 30 ended the challenge of Shefali of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 18.

In the boys’ category,Boxing Coaching Centre,Sector 42 emerged as the winner with 19 points in the 32nd Chandigarh Junior Boys Boxing Championship. Akal Shakti Boxing Club claimed the second spot with nine points. Surender Singh of Boxing Coaching Centre,Sector 42 emerged as the winner in the 48 Kg category with a win over Anthony of GNK,Sector 30 in the final while Karambir bagged Boxing Coaching Club,Sector 42’s second gold as he defeated Rahul of Sharda Club,Sector 40 in the final.

In the 54 Kg category,Parveen Kumar of Boxing Coaching Centre,Sector 42 emerged as the winner with a win over Ishan Arora of SD club. In the 57 Kg Category,Anil Kumar of DAV College,Sector 10 lost to Virendder Rana of DAV Public School,Sector 15.

In the 64 Kg category, Jairaj of SD Club lost to Beepan Kumar of Boxing Coaching Centre,Sector 42 while in the 75 kg category,Jaideep of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40 emerged as the winner with a win over Neeraj Rana of BN,Sector 37 in the final.
