To preserve Sikh heritage outside the country and to collect the scattered articles of Sikh heritage in UK at one place,a holocaust museum and a national Sikh heritage centre are being established in UK. They will be inaugurated by the Queen in July this year.

Talking to mediapersons here today, chairman of the museum committee,Rajinder Singh Purewal said the museum has already got 300 items, including weapons and seven canons, swords, other arms, safety covers, guns, coins and old paintings on lease from the British museum. These articles were lost to British forces in the mid-19th century during the annexation of Punjab by the Britishers. The museum would be established near Gurdwara Singh Sabha Derby. Purewal said these articles were earlier scattered at various places, but now they would be available at one place for people to view.
