Sidharth Kapoor of Uttrakhand struggled to overcome a stiff resistance from local lad Rishabh Khanna by 8-7 (6) in the boys’ singles’ first-round qualifying round match in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Talent Series Tennis Tournament on Saturday. Both matched evenly and dished out good tennis. In the closely contested encounter,Sidharth and Rishab were tied seven-all and the issue was decided in the tie-breaker session which Sidharath clinched at 8-7 (6).

There was rain interruption for three hours. However,all matches scheduled in Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) Complex and Lake Club were completed. The final qalifying round matches will be played on Sunday.
