Pracheen Kala Kendra organised a special programme on Saturday evening where a group of qawwals led by inimitable Patiala gharana virtuoso Neelay Khan enthralled the audience with a magical spell of musical renditions. The programme took place at the Koser’s Indoor Auditorium of the Kendra in Sector 71.

Keeping up with his distinctive style of singing which is a blend of Sufi gaayaki and recitation,Neelay Khan commenced the evening with an invocatory salutation,“Aakhi sohne nu” followed by a melodious couplet,“Sabr ki intiha ho gayi hai” before doling out Sada Ambalvi’s well-known composition,“Na mein kisi nu,na koi mainu udeekda”. The presentation was a perfect amalgam of classicism, poetic elegance and pulsating rhythmic patterns.
