.asks Saroj Khan as she,along with a bevy of stars,put on their dancing shoes for the brand-new Saroj Khan Dance Academy One is usually enough to act as a crowd puller. Two can make it tango,and three is always a charm. But what do you do when seven of them turn up? You pray there is space to accommodate all! Thats what exactly happened at the launch of Saroj Khans Dance Academy in Sector 34 Chandigarh,when she and her star buddies turned up in full strength there. Set up in association with Leo One Productions (India) Ltd,the academy played a gracious host to actors Tulip Joshi,Udita Goswami,Preeti Jhangiani,Priyanka Kothari,Zakir Hussain,Adi Irani,Shiva,Masterji herself along with Sandeep Shukla and Harpreet Singh of Leo One Productions. Dance is a very important part of human expression. One can say so much in one movement! At this academy,well be teaching students the very soul of dance, says Saroj. From Bharatnatyam,Bhangra,Giddha to Bollywood,Jazz,Salsa,Hip-hop,Rock-n-Roll,Natwari etc,there will be a blend of dances,and levels for various students. But the intake will take place after screening and test, says Saroj,adding that their focus will be on Bollywood style and that she too will be visiting twice a month to keep a check. As for the course duration,they range from crash courses of three months to full term of one year. Certificates would be duly issued on completion of courses,and after training from here,our students can look forward to starting a dance school,participate in dance reality shows or make a career in dancing, informs Saroj adding that admissions begin February 20 onwards. A quick look at stars sitting in a line,and for Saroj they are friends. Weve learnt so much from Masterji and we are here to support her, they flash a starry smile. I was 17 when I she taught me dance,how to look,act and express. There is no other teacher like her, coos Preeti while for Udita,if you cant dance from the heart,youre cheating it. And,if youre a conscious person,you can never perform, says Udita looking forward to films including Chase,Rokkk and two more with Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar. Move on to Nisha,er,Priyanka Kothari,and the actress,we believe has done quite a bit down south like Preeti. An avid dancer,she has in fact taken training in Kathak for couple of years. Its an English film being directed by Soham Roy,and it goes on floor next month, in the meantime,its Nischay Kar Apni Jeet Karo,and another Punjabi film. For me,the part has to be creative and satifying, she says. Well,its the same for all!
