Sexual harassment case: Woman coach says unknown car tried to hit her bike, case lodged

The woman had sent her complaint on the official WhatsApp number of SHO, Sector 5 police station, Panchkula, who lodged the FIR based on it. The FIR was registered under Section 279 and 336 of the IPC.

In her complaint, the coach stated, “Around 9.18 pm, when I was in front of Gopal Sweets to refuel my vehicle at Sector 5, Panchkula, one black car driven by a man with long hair came at a high speed with an intention to hit my two-wheeler either to cause harm or kill me. Some people there tried to stop him but he sped away.

After which I had even called 112 but to no avail. I had informed a police official (Neha) about it. It’s was a breach in my security and was life threatening. Earlier also such incidents have happened.”

SHO, Sector 5 police station, Panchkula, Inspector Ajit Singh, said, “An FIR was lodged against the driver of an unknown black coloured Endeavor. I received the complaint on my WhatsApp. We inspected the place mentioned in the complaint. Though there was no CCTV camera at that particular location, we are examining the cameras installed nearby that particular location.”

Earlier the woman coach had lodged an FIR against the Haryana minister at Sector 26 police station, Chandigarh, on December 31, 2022, in the sexual harassment case.

The woman’s coach has alleged in the FIR that Sandeep Singh had molested her inside his office in his official residence in Sector 7 between the months of June and September, 2022.

Chandigarh police had recorded the statement of Sandeep Singh twice and recommended narco-analysis, lie-detector test of him. His consent is pending in this matter.
