The Internationalist Democratic Party and Bharti Kisan Union (Sidhupur) jointly organised a seminar on the topic Capital Sentence: Punishment or Judicial Murder on Sunday. Former Judge,Justice Kuldeep Singh was the chief guest on the occasion,who condemned Capital Punishment and said that it does not have any place in a civilised society. He also added on more humanitarian grounds that nature has given birth and nobody has the right to decide when somebody is to be executed. Also present on the occasion was Ex-MLA Inderjeet Singh Jaijee,IDP president ID Khajuria,CPI (ML) leader Kamaljit,Bharti Kisan Party members Pishora Singh and Balvir Singh Rajewal who also advocated the abolishing of the death penalty. Organising the seminar,Balvir Singh Rajewal said that the idea of this seminar came into picture after Balwant Singh Rajoana had been given the death sentence for the murder of former Punjab Chief Minister,Beant Singh.
