See saw: A Bride Start

It’s that time of the year again when festive celebrations shift gears and most of us are keen on makeovers.

It’s that time of the year again when festive celebrations shift gears and most of us are keen on makeovers. Extending its beauty services to Panchkula is Femina Plus,a unisex spa and salon that’s opened in Sector 8 in association with Schwarzkopf Professional. The launch witnessed a bridal extravaganza showcasing hairstyles and make-up solutions for the contemporary bride. The looks were put together by Rachit Malhotra, creative ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional (North India),with actor and Kingfisher Calendar Hunt finalist Akshita Agnihotri as the model in attendance. Dramatic eyes, subtle make-up and soft curls in hair seem to be the season’s popular look as showcased at the event.

On a New Track

MTV’s uber popular reality show,Roadies is set for its 10th season. In the past,Chandigarh has been an important centre for auditions and the previous seasons have seen many participants from not just the city but the region as well. Looking to tap new “talent”,the auditions for the show will take place on November 7 at Indradhanush Auditorium,Sector 5,Panchkula. Steering away from the usual format, this time the show will see teams under anchors Raghu Ram and Rannvijay (in the picture) pitted against each other. Titled Battle for Glory, the new Roadies selected will be on Rannvijay’s team while Raghu will have a team of ex-Roadies. While it would be interesting to watch Raghu and Rannvijay battle it out, bringing back some of the most interesting ex-Roadies,hope the producers will add “punch and dynamics” to the show this season.

Photo Finish

Taking the concept of one-stop-shops forward is La Opulence,a unisex salon in Sector 22 that has re-launched itself as a salon cum fashion photography studio in collaboration with lensman Sunny Dhiman. The inaugural function saw a fashion show with actor and model Gurleen Chopra as a special guest. “With changing trends, people are becoming conscious about their looks and even want to flaunt it. Portfolios nowadays are not just limited to those in the modelling world, but people are opting for photo shoots to look good in passport size photos and social networking sites like Facebook as well,” remarked Rajesh Bajaj, director of Link Enterprises, the company which runs La Opulence salons in the city.
