Security beefed up at counting centres in Adampur,Ratia

Adampur seat in Hisar district fell vacant after sitting MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hisar in a bypoll. The Ratia seat in Fatehabad district fell vacant following the demise of INLD’s Gian Chand Odh in September.

Those whose fate will be decided for the Adampur seat include Congress nominee Kulbeer Singh,Renuka Bishnoi,wife of HJC-BL Chief Kuldeep Bishnoi,and INLD’s R S Baswana who retired as a Sessions Judge from Kaithal in August. In Ratia,the contestants include INLD’s Sarfi Bai,Congress’ Jarnail Singh,a former MLA,and Mahavir Prasad of newly-carved alliance of BJP and HJC.

The counting centres at Adampur,Hisar district and Ratia,Fatehabad district of Haryana turned into fortresses today,as the Haryana police deployed over 1,000 police personnel at both centres,where the counting of the bypolls shall take place tomorrow morning. The counting will commence at around 8 am tomorrow and the final result is expected to be declared in a few hours. The Deputy Commissioners of both the districts have imposed Section 144 of CrPC in the 500-metre radius of the counting centres.
