Sector-15 shopowner held for selling fake Puma products

The Chandigarh Police seized fake products using the brand name of sports brand ‘Puma’ from a shop in the Sector-15 market on Friday. Acting on a complaint by the chairman of Puma Company,Jugal Kishore,the police raided the shop — Chandigarh Fashion Shoppe — and arrested its owner Rajiv Kumar under the Copyright Act. “We had information that duplicate products of our brand were being sold in the city. On my complaint,the police raided the shop in Sector 15. In the coming days,many more shopowners will be under the scanner as I plan to give lodge complaints,” said Jugal Kishore. “We have registered a case accordingly. The seized material includes a large number of T-shirts,shoes and sports goods,” said Inspector Sukhbir Rana,SHO,Sector-11 police station.
