Sector 33 resident booked for forgery

The UT police today booked a resident of Sector 33 on charges of cheating and forgery for preparing a counterfeit lease deed to take possession of a house in Sector 33. The police booked D S Kundu,a Sector 33 resident,on a complaint lodged by K S Brar,a resident of Sector 36.

The case was registered following the direction of a local court. The police said that Brar alleged in his complaint that he had bought the house from its original owner,Air Commander Iqbal Singh Bindra. The owner had leased the house to a Bank for one year.

Kundu,who was an employee of the bank,was living in a portion of the house. In order to take illegal possession of the house,Kundu prepared a forged lease deed showing that the house had been leased to him. A case has been registered with the Sector 34 police station.
