Sarpanch,aide shot dead

Sarpanch of Dhaudhar village Rashpal Singh was shot dead late on Thursday night and two of his aides were injured. One of them succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

This is the second case in two months where a sarpanch has been killed

Sarpanch of Dhaudhar village Rashpal Singh was shot dead late on Thursday night and two of his aides were injured. One of them succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The Moga police have registered a case under Sections 302,307,147 and 148 of the IPC against persons with whom the sarpanch had a property dispute. Investigations are being carried out but no arrests have been made so far.

The police have also not ruled out the possibility of contract killing in the case. Moga SSP Snehdeep Sharma said the matter was under investigation and he could not comment on anything until the probe was complete.

This is the second case in two months where a sarpanch has been killed. In first week of March,Sarpanch of Gajiana village Inderjeet Singh was shot dead by unknown people.

Both of them belong to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

The police are also on a look out for a youth from Jagraon who may be involved in these shoot outs.
