Rs 12.80 lakh recovered in visa racket case

Nawanshahr police have recovered cash worth Rs 12.80 lakhs from the accused in a visa fraud case from whom 1219 passports were retrieved last week.

Nawanshahr police have recovered cash worth Rs 12.80 lakhs from the accused in a visa fraud case from whom 1219 passports were retrieved last week. The police have also recovered 22 more passports on the basis of information provided by three accused who are under police remand.

SSP Dr Narinder Bhargav said the police have also prepared a sketch of the kingpin of the racket,Arun Gowardhan Sharma. The SSP said the interrogation of those arrested has revealed that Sharma mainly operated his network through phone and had been using fake identities. The details of all 1241 passports recovered has been posted on the district police website.
