Rain cools down UT, maximum temp down by 7 degrees

The temperature in Chandigarh saw a major dip on Saturday after a spell of rainfall, which the weather department recorded at 9.8 mm.

According to the weather department, rainfall was witnessed in the city as well as some of the neighbouring areas like Ambala, Yamunanagar, Ropar and Patiala.

As per details, the maximum temperature during the day in Chandigarh was recorded at 22.1 degrees Celsius, which was around seven degrees lower than Friday’s maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Cesius. The minimum temperature settled at 16.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees below Friday’s minimum of 18.9 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has predicted that scattered to fairly widespread, light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds likely in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali in the next three days.
