The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) Tuesday cleared the empanelment of officiating Punjab Police chief Gaurav Yadav as a director general of police on central deputation.

ACC also cleared the empanelment of five IPS officers for holding top positions at the Centre, including Nuzhat Hassan of the 1991 AGMUT cadre, Ch D Tirumala Rao of the 1989 Andhra Pradesh cadre, Aditya Misra of the 1989 Uttar Pradesh batch, and Idashisha Nongrang of 1992 Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
