PU declares final semester BA BEd result

With the Punjab and Haryana High Court giving its nod today,the Panjab University finally declared the long awaited final semester BA BEd results of this four year integrated course being run on the campus.

As the matter was in court,the moment the High Court in its decision announced that the result should be declared immediately,PU authorities issued a notification for the same and by evening the 31 students received their results. As for the inspection by the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) that was pending in all these four years,the court directed the Council to complete the inspection process within three months.

Considering the concerns and requirement by students of applying in other courses and institutes,we have immediately declared the results, said Dean Students Welfare Naval Kishore.

The students of final semester had been repeatedly protesting against the delay in declaration of results outside the Vice chancellors office recently. The students claimed that it was a dispute between the NCTE and PU and there was no justification in making them suffer. Similar concerns of the course affiliation were shared by the seventh semester students who had been recently promoted to the final semester.

The Panjab University could not get an approval from NCTE for the course started four years back,even after the first batch had completed its course. Also,for conducting examinations of this final semester,the University sought an approval from the High Court. Though the affiliation by NCTE is still pending as the Council has to give its clearance to PU after the inspection,authorities are hoping that the matter would be resolved soon.
