Preferences for joint admission to engineering colleges finalised

Preferences of students for admission to the six engineering and architecture institutions in the city and Hoshiarpur were finalised and locked on Saturday. Around 10,000 students have registered for the joint admission to the six institutions against 1,600 seats.

The admission to PEC University of Technology,Sector 14; University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) in Panjab University; Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology,Sector 26; University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET) in PU; Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre,Hoshiarpur; and Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA),Sector 12; is being jointly conducted by UIET.

The merit list will be declared on July 9 in accordance with the ranks of the students in the All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

The students will then have to pay the admission fee online between July 9 and 11. Those who do not get a suitable seat or are not satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round of counselling will have to pay a fee to participate in second and third rounds of counselling.
