Police solve Sukhna Lake murder case

Akash,who was already facing trials in two separate auto-theft cases registered against him by Chandigarh and Punjab police,was staying in Phase-VII,Mohali and working in a call centre at Mohali. Akash hails from Hoshiarpur. ¿Both Akash and Jatinder used to be very close pals. Infact,in a theft case,Jatinder had stood surety for Akash in 2009,on the basis of which Akash got bail¿,said one of the investigating officials.

According to the police,Jatinder had already planned Akash¿s murder and thus took him to Kaimbwala liquor vend,with an intention of making him drunk and then murdering him. Soon after identifying Akash,the police scrutinized his mobile phone call records and reached Jatinder. Since Jatinder was the one who had made the last few phone calls to Akash on his mobile phone,the police questioned Jatinder,who succumbed to the police queries and narrated the entire incident.

Jatinder,son of a government employee in Punjab,had confessed to the murder and was arrested on the charges. He was taken in police custody,from the court,for further custodial interrogation.
