PGI: Two-day biostatistical workshop from Friday

The Department of Biostatistics,PGIMER,Chandigarh is going to organise the 3rd Biostatistical Workshop on February 17 and 18. K K Bhutani,Director,NIPER will be the chief guest on this occasion.

The Department of Biostatistics,PGIMER,Chandigarh is going to organise the 3rd Biostatistical Workshop on February 17 and 18. K K Bhutani,Director,NIPER will be the chief guest on this occasion.

The theme of sample size determination received a huge response of the medical fraternity during the last two workshops and this time the limited 50 seats were filled immediately after opening of registration.

The theme of 3rd Biostatistical Workshop is “Study Design and Sample Size Determination in Medical Research”. The participants have emerged from different disciplines of surrounding institutes,universities and colleges of Chandigarh. The workshop is being supported by MCI and ICMR. Organising secretary Dr Pramod K Gupta from PGI’s Department of Biostatistics,emphasised that Design of Study and Sample Size Determination is an integral part of almost every research study for obtaining reliable outcome for the underlined objective. However,different study design demands sample size adjustment,which is eventually very crucial to power the study.

Chairman Anil K Gupta said that this sort of workshop is extremely vital for the medical professionals to enrich their skills for better research in the interest of patient care.
