Perfect click

If there was something more challenging that giving an exam for me,it was definitely clicking a picture.

Cameras now come loaded with intelligent sensors

If there was something more challenging that giving an exam for me,it was definitely clicking a picture. For the coordination and concentration required was immense — focus, light and expression, all had to be in sync in that one second and then of course there had to be ‘no shake’. “But now it’s all just a matter of one click. For the rest is taken care by the camera itself,” tells Kenichi Tanaka,Managing Director,FujiFilm India Pvt Ltd,as he introduces the latest in the series with EXR technology. “The technology uses human eye as the basis for intelligent camera sensor and so can create an unprecedented level of image quality, while addressing basic challenges common to most compact cameras like limited dynamic range, high noise, and poor colour reproduction,” Tanaka tells us the camera is capable of offering excellent quality in low light and superb highlight detail in contrast light when switched to its high sensitivity and wide dynamic range modes, respectively.

This, while Canon rolls out 23 new smart cameras and camcorders. “Eight digital compact cameras,10 digital video camcorders, one digital SLR,one compact photo printer and three lenses,to be very precise,” chirps Kensaku Konishi,President & CEO,Canon India, adding that each one of them is an intelligent product in itself.

With the market flooded with brands and options, the range of Sony too is a must dekko. “With 11 new digital cameras, most of our cameras have intelligent auto mode that activates intelligent scence recognition and face detection feature,” Sunil Nayyar,Head,Sales,Sony India, tells us that there are models like DSC-HX1 that come with 10 Frames Per Second Bust Shooting and Sweep Panoroma function

For Samsung, its eight new models are pitched for people who want higher resolution cameras with advanced features like powerful portrait technology, smart functions, large LCD display and digital image stabilization. “Designed to help capture better images, specifically portraits and group shots,WB500’s Face Detection Technology detects faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality. As for the Smile Shot technology it takes a photo only when the camera detects smiles on the subjects’ faces, and the Blink Detection automatically fires three consecutive shots if the camera detects that eyes are closed,” R Zutshi,Deputy Director,Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd tells us that what’s better is that it has a Beauty Shot too that automatically brightens and evens out skin tones. This, besides the PL60 range that reduces blur caused by unsteady handling. Hand over the camera, now I surely can take great shots!
