PCA invites 24 Kashmiri students

In a friendly gesture,Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has invited 24 students from remote areas of District Kupwara (Jammu & Kashmir),who will be visiting the PCA Stadium in Mohali on May 11 and also witness the IPL match between KXIP and Hyderabad Sunrisers.

In a friendly gesture,Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has invited 24 students from remote areas of District Kupwara (Jammu & Kashmir),who will be visiting the PCA Stadium in Mohali on May 11 and also witness the IPL match between KXIP and Hyderabad Sunrisers. The visit is part of the army’s project Sadhbhavana – XVI being under taken by Indian army to provide an opportunity to the youth from this remote region of J&K to visit places of historical importance,institutions and industries and witness national cohesion. M.P Pandove,Secretary PCA,stated that the association has come forward to host these youths from J&K for a visit to the PCA Stadium. He said that the students will get complimentary tickets in the PCA members block and also complimentary packed dinner as a goodwill gesture.

BBFS to conduct football workshop from May 11

Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) will conduct a free football workshop in Chandigarh at the Sector 17 Football Stadium on May 11 and 12. A team of coaches from BBFS led by ex-Portuguese international,Jose Tavares,will conduct the free football workshop for interested kids between the age of 6-17 years. The camp will be followed by a youth league (Chandigarh Youth Football League),which is BBFS’s alternate to a month-long summer camp. The youth league will take place from May 25 till 30. Interested players can contact BBFS’s regional head Ankit Arora at 7696000947 to register for the camp. The camp will start on Saturday evening at 3:30pm. Through this workshop,BBFS also aims to attract talented individuals and offer scholarships for its regular program in Chandigarh.

Feroz tied third on Day One

On a windy Wednesday,Chandigarh’s Feroz Singh Garewal carded the only under par round for the day which saw the top 50 amateurs make the cut. Feroz turned in a card of 1-under par for the day,which took him to the tied-third position at 1 over par after the second round of the Tata Steel IGU Gujarat Open Amateur Championship 2013 being played at Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Club at Ahmedabad.
