Patiala YAD leader to contest as Independent

Youth Akali Dal general secretary and president of the Patiala Welfare Society,Satbir Singh Khatra,on Sunday announced that he will contest as an Independent from Patiala (Rural) constituency.

Satbir,who is the son of Fatehgarh Sahib Senior Superintendent of Police Ranbir Singh Khatra,however,said he had not resigned from the party and urged the party to review the decision of giving a ticket to Kuldeep Kaur Tohra — foster daughter of late Gurcharan Singh Tohra — from Patiala (Rural).

Satbir had been up in arms to oppose the party ticket to her.
