Patiala DCs assistant suspended

Patiala deputy commissioners Personal Assistant Satnam Singh,additional deputy commissioners PA Harminder Singh,ADCs reader Gurnam Singh and clerk Kesar Singh were suspended on Friday for allegedly consuming liquor in ADCs PAs room after office hours on Thursday.

Patiala deputy commissioners Personal Assistant (PA) Satnam Singh,additional deputy commissioners PA Harminder Singh,ADCs reader Gurnam Singh and clerk Kesar Singh were suspended on Friday for allegedly consuming liquor in ADCs PAs room after office hours on Thursday.

Following a tip-off,Patiala Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anil Garg held a preliminary inquiry,based on which DC Vikas Garg suspended the four.

When I reached the spot,I saw Satnam Singh leaving and found the ADC PAs room locked. After getting the room opened,I saw signs that liquor had been consumed, said Garg. He added that the action was taken after recording the statement of Satnam Singh and the chowkidar.

According to Garg,Satnam claimed that he was invited by Harminder and Gurnam to accompany them for a drink. A detailed inquiry will be conducted now after chargesheeting them, he added. When contacted,Harminder Singh and Satnam Singh denied having consumed liquor.
