A devastating spell of bowling by Aseem Pathak propelled Police DAV Public School,Ambala to an emphatic 45-run win over DMW,Patiala in the opening match of the Second BTS Gold Cup U-14 being organised by Professional Cricket Club played at The Banyan Tree School. Police DAV Public School won the toss and elected to bat first. It was a day where bowlers dominated the game and it was shown in both the innings of the match.
Batting first,Police DAV Public School,Ambala were folded up for a low total of 81 runs in 17 overs. Vinod was the main scorer for the Ambala team as he played a knock of 20 runs. For DMW,Patiala,Rahul Gothwal was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed six wickets for 20 runs. Parvinder too too bowled well to claim two wickets for 22 runs. Chasing an easy target of 82 runs. DMW,Patiala never looked into the game as wickets fell at regular intervals. Shubham was the top scorer for the team as the team bundled out for a paltry total of 36 runs in 11 overs. For the winning team,Aseem Pathak was the star of the day as he ran through the opposition middle-order,picking up five wickets for eight runs in the process. He was ably assisted by Vinod who claimed four wickets for six runs.
