One held for robbing store

The Chandigarh Police have arrested a Mauli Jagran resident for allegedly breaking into two showrooms at Manimajra and three shops in Sector 16

The Chandigarh Police have arrested a Mauli Jagran resident for allegedly breaking into two showrooms at Manimajra and three shops in Sector 16. The accused has been identified as Ranjit and has been remanded to police custody for two days.

“We have so far arrested three persons Sanjeev,Anil and Sanjay in this case and recovered cash worth Rs 40,000 and eight mobile phones from them,“ said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohan.

The incident occured on June 4,when the accused arrived in a Maruti car at Sector 16 and allegedly broke into three shops. The vehicle used was stolen from Sector-26 and left on the spot after the robbery. Following it,the four allegedly stole another car and headed towards Manimajra where they robbed a mobile store and a chemist shop.
