The UT education department has issued a common admission schedule for pre-primary classes in private and government schools.
According to the schedule, which was decided after taking suggestions from school principals, the admission process will begin from December 1 with the issuance of admission forms.
Children between three to five years of age will be eligible for admissions to the pre-primary classes.
The admission forms will be issued at the schools individually and also be available on their websites till December 18. The forms will be issued at free of cost at schools and can also be downloaded from the school websites.
However, the schools will be required to display information regarding the total number of available seats, minimum age requirement, fee structure and the dates of admission by November 30.
In view of the winter break, the schools will display the list of eligible candidates on December 30.
The finalisation of selected candidates and the waiting list will be done from January 11 to 25. The list of selected candidates will be displayed on January 25 followed by the display of selected candidates from the waiting list on February 18.
The education department has also reiterated that the common admission schedule for the nursery admissions must be followed in all private and government schools in the city.
