In the silver category, the price of tickets on weekdays will be Rs 100 before noon and Rs 125 later. From Friday to Sunday, these will be priced at Rs 115 before noon and Rs 125 thereafter. The notification will be for the five multiplexes – Centra Mall,City Emporio,Fun Republic,Piccadily and DT Mall. With the prices for Elante Mall having been fixed recently, the notification does not not apply to it.

Deputy Commissioner Mohd Shayin said,“As per rules,we have to fix the prices of tickets of the malls. There is a 20 per cent hike in the rates for the business class. The demand had been raised by the owners of multiplexes”.

Amit, manager of DT Mall, said that they were satisfied with the hiked amount.

“The prices should be monitored by the UT Administration. Otherwise, there are chances that the hike could be much more,as the multiplexes situated in the heart of the city will be at a locational advantage. They will hike the prices by a lot more,” he said.
