The Election Commission on Tuesday said that it has not received any complaint related to counting which was held on Tuesday. The commission said that the online monitoring of elections helped reduce any chances of complaints.

State Election Commissioner,Dharam Vir,said,“We had ensured that the elections are monitored online that helped reduce any chances of complaints.” In the elections,he said, the commission took some measures for the first time and the officers had been regularly updating the commission about election results online. “We were able to keep track of the polling parties,” he said.

He also added that it was for the first time that the candidates of political parties were consulted on the decisions related to elections.

“The demands of the candidates of different political parties were taken into account. And the demand of the political parties to increase the timing of the elections from 8 am to 5 pm was implemented,” he said. He also added that normally the practice was that the electoral rolls were updated after the date of the elections was announced. He however said that this time this was done prior to the election dates and even the rolls will be submitted to take their views on the revision.
