‘No B Ed colleges in Punjab

Around 30 new B Ed colleges in Punjab will receive affiliation only after they obtain no objection certificates from the state government,said Dr Jamshid Ali Khan,Dean of the College Development Council,Punjabi University,Patiala.

Around 30 new B Ed colleges in Punjab will receive affiliation only after they obtain no objection certificates from the state government,said Dr Jamshid Ali Khan,Dean of the College Development Council,Punjabi University,Patiala. He added that the affiliation process of around 30 degree colleges for session 2013-14 would be completed within a week.

He inaugurated the ‘Aryans Admission cum Job Fair II’ at Aryans Group of Colleges on Sunday. Dr Khan also mentioned that from 2013-14,Punjabi University has added the new concept of ‘single faculty college’. Under this,land requirement for colleges has been reduced to 1.6 acre from 5 acre,except for degree colleges,where it will remain at 5 acres. Under ‘single faculty college’ courses under one faculty can be started.

Dr Khan added that now the Punjabi University would be very particular before giving affiliation. The focus would be on qualitative expansion not on quantitative expansion,he said. Also present on the occasion were Prof D C Kataria,vice- chairman,Aryans Group; Rajni Kataria,treasurer,Aryans Group and others.
