Naveen Jindal files nomination papers amid much fanfare

Accpmpanied by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda,Congress MP Naveen Jindal today filed his nomination from the Kurukshetra Parliamentary seat.

Members of Naveen Jindal’s family,including his mother Savitri Jindal,Minister of State in the Haryana government,industrialist brothers P R Jindal,Sajjan Jindal,and Ratan Jindal,and wife Shallu Jindal,besides sisters were also present during the filing of nomination.

Jindal later addressed a huge rally at Divine Park in the city. Speaking at the rally,the CM said that although his son Deepinder was contesting from the Rohtak Parliament seat,he wanted the people of Kurukshetra to make Jindal win by a bigger margin,because of the allround development done by him as MP.

Other party leaders said that besides spending the public funds allocated under the MPLAD scheme on the developmental works in his constituency,Naveen Jindal also spent over Rs 40 crore from the funds of O P Jindal Jan Kalyan Sansthan on developing roads,building schools,running medical vans,setting up sports facilities,distributing cycles to needy girls,and initiating several other welfare schemes. Jindal had defeated INLD leader Abhey Chautala in the 2004 Parliamentary elections by 1.70 lakh votes.
