It’s been the game of all talk and little play this season. While the Indian cricket team’s going through a rough patch of late, the celebs are having a field day with bat and ball. So what if there are not enough eyeballs, the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) based on the T20 format is on on Sahara One and Filmy channels. With six teams,15 league matches, two semi-finals and a finale,CCL kickstarted on January 13 and will bring together Bollywood and the southern film industry. It’s a multi-starrer action entertainer alright, but what strikes us apart from the six teams — Mumbai Heroes,Chennai Rhinos,Karnataka BullDozers,Telugu Warriors,Kerala Strikers and Bengal Tigers — are Bollywood ladies posing for the CCL posters and cheering for the teams. Check out Sonakshi Sinha,Kangana Ranaut and Genelia D’souza as brand ambassadors for Mumbai Heroes,a team led by Suniel Shetty and Ritiesh Deshmukh as vice-captain. Superstar Salman Khan will be the iconic player for Mumbai Heroes. For Bengal Tigers captained by Bengali actor Jeet, sisters Ria and Raima Sen are the poster girls. For Kerala Strikers that has superstar Mohanlal as its skipper and actor Indrajith as deputy skipper, brand ambassadors are southern sirens Laxmi Rai and Bhavna. The game is on till February 11.
