City-based doctor makes it to the Gladrags Mrs India finals

Forgive the cliche,but she is the perfect example of beauty with brains. Now,making not just her family but the city proud is Dr Neetu Narula,a radiologist by profession who is among the finalists vying for the Gladrags Mrs India 2010 title. “For me she’s already a winner,” beams a proud hubby Dr Manpal Narula who is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing in Chandigarh like his pretty wife. Interestingly,the decision to enter the contest which has taken a new reality twist this year was a “last minute thing”. “We read about the call for entries and I asked Neetu to fill up the form as she fulfilled the required criteria,” mentions Dr Narula. Before she knew it Dr Neetu,who also is mommy to a seven-year-old son,was on her way to the regional selections in Delhi which she cleared with flying colours. “Participating in a beauty contest is something all of us ladies dream of but don’t always get down to doing it. In my case I was lucky to have this opportunity courtesy a very supportive husband and in-laws who have backed me all through,” mentioned Neetu before heading to Mumbai where she’s part of the contest which has now been converted into a reality show on NDTV Imagine. “This year,contestants like Neetu,have been kept in a house and are being given different tasks. The idea,we are told,is to allow judges to see the ladies in real surroundings and situations,” explains Dr Manpal who caught the first sight of his pretty wife this Sunday when the show premiered on the channel. “The voting on the website has started and I am hoping Neetu gets all support she deserves,” sums up the proud husband.
