It is the biggest musical reality show, and now that I’m on it,it will have the highest TRP. Just wait and watch,” it’s difficult to cut in a conversation that’s a glorified version of ‘me,myself and nobody (else)’ because it simply doesn’t pause,in this case, another question. To give him the benefit of doubt, perhaps Himesh Reshammiya loves the sound of his voice, and may be that’s (one of) the reason he chooses to be Mr All-in-One. “I only act, sing and compose for my films because that’s my USP and my producers make good money from it,” is Reshammiya’s side of the story. Back in action with a new and improved look – he’s lost oodles of weight, got rid of the long tresses and fixed that critically-commented on nasal twang,Himesh says he’s “blessed with two distinct voices, and it was time to launch myself with a new one with Radio.” Seriously! That said,it would be better if we steer back to the original line of action – the musical reality show. To be aired on Star Plus,it’s called Music ka Mahamuquabla. “It’s based on the T20 cricket format, and the best part is that it will be shot in a real stadium with real talent!” Reshammiya’s excited and his team’s already been christened as Himesh’s Warriors. There are six teams with six captains in total including Mika’s Blasters,Shaan’s Strikers,Mohit’s Fighters,Shankar’s Rockstars and Shreya’s Superstars. “And the contestants are all established singers, winners in their own right,” Himesh is dying to see a Vineet fight out with Toshi,Raja with Sharib et al.

While Himesh is prepping for the big fight,December 3 will see the release of his next,Radio. “We’ve kept the release on a Thursday for astrological reasons,” after Karzzz’s debacle, the star desperately wants this to be a hit. “I’ve approached this one with a businessman’s attitude, and we’ve already recovered the costs via teasers and music.” The film, according to Himesh,is about love, compatibility, complications, closure, relationships and Facebook. “I play RJ Vivaan Shah who, although advises people on relationships, has the most complicated status of all,” except for a divorce followed by a love triangle in the film,Himesh says Vivaan’s character comes closest to him. “It’s like an English romantic comedy with real characters and emotions.” Post Karzzz, the man’s learnt lessons, and now sticks to roles that are true to life. In fact, the New Year will see three back to back Himesh releases including Pooja Bhatt’s Kajrare,Studio 18’s Ishk Unplugged and John Mathan Matthew’s A New Love Ishtory in which he plays a tapori.

“I love experimenting but it has to be with the best concept, the best money and the people because by now,my work – 100 films and 500 songs, says it all.” Well, you said it all!
