Congress candidate Arshad Khan released his manifesto today. He has promised improvement in the general infrastructure,technology-driven road maintenance initiatives and upgradation of other civic amenities among other things.
Khan is the candidate from ward 26. The manifesto promises better sanitation facilities and primary health care facilities for the residents. He has also envisioned provision of sports and recreational facilities for the residents.
With the process of filling nominations over,candidates for the Municipal Corporation elections campaigned in their wards to garner votes. The candidates are approaching the voters and listening to their demands and grievances.
Harmohinder Singh Lucky,the Congress candidate for the MC elections from ward 16 today visited the market of Sector 20 as a part of his election campaign. He listened to the problems and issues of the shopkeepers. Lucky says that the market associations extended full support to him.
Another Congress candidate Mukesh Bassi who is contesting from ward number 18,19 and 21 kicked off his door to door campaigning. He interacted with the people and heard their expectations from the representative of the area.
The BJP candidates,after the issue of distribution of tickets having been settled have started approaching their wards.
With just one of the sitting councillors retaining wards,candidates are making their presence felt in new wards.
