Riding high on Vaibhav Kaushik’s all-round performance (28 runs and 3 for 20),St John’s School,Sector 26 recorded a seven-wicket win over Vivek High School,Sector 37,in a match played during 2nd Brother McCann cricket tournament at St John’s School ground in Chandigarh on Wednesday. However,St John’s lost its second match to Saupin’s School,Sector 32,by 27 runs.
In the game against Vivek High School,St John’s School opted to field first and restricted the visitors to 127 runs for seven in 20 overs. Angad (37) topscored for Vivek High School while Karan made 32 runs. For St John’s,Viabhav Kaushik was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three wickets,giving away 20 runs. In the second match,Saupin’s School beat St John’s by 27 runs. Batting first,Saupin’s School posted a total of 122 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Gauravdeep scored the highest 38 runs. In reply,the hosts were bowled out for 95 runs in 15.5 overs. Prabjeet grabbed three,while Arpit,Jakshu and Satyam picked two wickets each.
Chess tourney on May 27 and May 28
