A Renowned actor and director,Palekar has also been a leading theatre personality in India.

It’s never easy to select the best of the lot. The Karbonn Mobiles 17th Annual Star Screen Awards’ esteemed panel took time off from their hectic schedules to face the challenge and choose the best,both behind and in front of the camera

Amol Palekar,Jury Chairperson,Actor-filmmaker

A Renowned actor and director,Palekar has also been a leading theatre personality in India. His Dhyaas Parva won the National Award for Best film on Family Welfare in 2001. He has also made critically acclaimed films such as Ankahee,Bangarwadi and Daayraand Anaahat.

The actor-director is currently working on a documentary on Hindustani classical vocalist Kishori Amonkar.

Kabir Khan,Director

He is known for his documentary films as well as popular movies. He bagged the National Award for best debut director for Kabul Express. His second,New York,was the opening film at the Cairo International Film Festival 2009.

Onir,Director

Onir is known for exploring the intricacies of human relationships in his films,My Brother Nikhil and Sorry Bhai. For his latest film I AM,the filmmaker sought to raise funds on social networking site

Facebook,receiving contributions from across the world. Padmini Kolhapure,Actor

She has worked with the finest directors of the country,including Raj Kapoor,V Shantaram,Dev Anand,Subhash Ghai,Nasir Husain and B R Chopra. Her filmography includes successful films like Prem Rog,Vidhaata,Woh Saat Din,Pyar Jhukta Nahin and Souten.

Prabhu Deva,Choreographer,Actor,Director

The National Award-winning choreographer is known for his effortless dancing skills. He turned director with Nuvvostanante

Nenoddantanain in 2005. His Pokkiri was applauded by critics and audiences alike. Prabhu also directed its Hindi version,Wanted,which was a blockbuster.

R Balki,Director

The National Award-winning director is the chairman and chief creative officer of Lintas,one of India’s leading ad agencies. His second film Paawent on to bag four National Awards,also that of Best Director.

Resul Pookutty,Sound recordist PADMA Shri Resul Pookutty has done the sound recording,editing,engineering and designing for more than 35 films. In 2009,he bagged the Oscar,the British Academy of Film And Television Arts (BAFTA) and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Award,for Slumdog Millionaire,making him the first and only Asian to win all these laurels.

MARATHI JURY

Sunil Sukthankar,Jury Chairperson,

Filmmaker

Along with Sumitra Bhave,Sukthankar has 11 feature films including Doghi,Dahavi F (10th F),

Vastupurush,Devrai,Badha,Nital,Bewaqt Barish and Gho Mala Asala Hawa,to his credit. The duo has also directed

40 short films,five telefilms and two TV serials.

Priya Berde,Actor

She started her career with Marathi

cinema and has to her credit several memorable films such as Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi,Thartharat,Yeda Ki Khula,Bajrangachi Kamaal and Natarang. She is the wife of late veteran Marathi actor Laxmikant Berde.

Shreyas Talpade,Actor

He started his career with the Marathi play Tour Tourin in 1995,followed by Devendra Pem’s All The Best that had a record 1,000 shows. Shreyas graduated to Marathi films with Pachhaadlelaaand Saawarkhed.

He was appreciated for his performances in Iqbal and Dor.
