The team is here to evaluate the college before deciding on the state governments proposal to increase the number of seats in MBBS here from 65 to 100.
The team reportedly discussed the latest process of recruiting doctors and paramedical staff on contract basis through the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of the
hospital.
The records of all appointments made through the RKS was summoned and deliberations continued till late in the evening.
IGMC principal Dr Surender Kashyap denied any reference to the teams concern over appointments made through the RKS.
The team is visiting all departments and inspecting them regarding the proposal of increasing seats, he said.
After 2002,when the MCI had turned down the proposal to increase MBBS seats, the college has added major infrastructure and increased its teaching strength. The college is hopeful of a positive outcome this year.
