MC’s pending projects to be discussed today

The Municipal Corporation is all set to hold a special House meeting on October 8 to discuss the progress of projects under way in different wards of the city. A similar meeting was held in February when certain measures suggested but they await implementation.

In the February meeting,it was highlighted that the civic body had passed more agenda items than could be executed in a year. In fact,it was stated that there was sufficient work with various departments for the next five years. So it was suggested that work be prioritised. The councillors were asked to identify work in their areas that they would like to see executed on priority basis.

However,soon after the decisions were taken,the code of conduct came into force due to the Lok Sabha elections. Later,when the code was lifted,a tiff arose between Mayor Kamlesh and Municipal Commissioner Dr Roshan Sunkaria.

The issue of pending projects was raised once again in the meeting of the House held on September 29 following which it was decided to hold a special meeting.”Apart from the blame game nothing concrete is discussed. The decisions taken are never implemented,” a councillor said.
