Municipal Commissioner Dr Roshan Sunkaria along with a team of officials carried out inspection of the ongoing works of the civic body. He visited a number of sectors to see the works of carpeting that have recently been completed.
During the visit,the Commissioner inspected recarpetting of V-6 roads in Sector 31 B and C,32 C and D as well as V-5 roads in Sector 32-D and Sector 45. He also inspected work of recarpeting of fire station parking in Sector 11,phirni road in village Burail and V-4 road in sector 11. The other areas that were visited included parking opposite V 5 road in sector 10 and carpeting of parking opposite V-5 in sector 7.
Commissioner further directed the concerned engineers to ensure quality control on the completed roads and take proper samples for testing. He also instructed that over correction should not be done in any road and proper care should be taken during carpeting near curve channels. He said that all the works should be done in set time frame.
The Commissioner further observed that while the quality of work was satisfactory,the workmanship needed improvement.
The team comprised of Chief Engineer,Superintending Engineer (B&R) and Executive Engineer (Roads-I).
