While Mayawati is not going to be addressing any public meeting in the city, she is going to meet the local leaders for a discussion.

With the city unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) projecting Jannat Jahan-ul-Haq as the candidate of the party for the Lok Sabha election, the visit of BSP supremo Mayawati to the city could give a boost to the party’s campaign, which has already started.

While Mayawati is not going to be addressing any public meeting in the city, she is going to meet the local leaders for a discussion.

Mayawati will be in the city on Sunday. She will be going to Zirakpur to attend the prayer in the memory of the sister of Kanshi Ram,the late founder of BSP.

Haffiz Anwar-ul-Haq,the convenor of the city unit of BSP,said,“A meeting will be held with the BSP chief about the forthcoming elections. We have already started campaigning in different parts of Chandigarh. Office bearers for all wards have been appointed. We are going from door to door to meet people.”

Jannat is at present the councillor of Municipal Corporation from ward 23 and the wife of Haffiz.

During the last Lok Sabha elections,Haffiz had contested on an RJD ticket. He said that with Mayawati coming to the city, the campaign would get a boost.
