Allowing creativity in a mathematics classroom is important to revive the interest of students in mathematics which is generally perceived as one of the difficult subjects by the majority.
With an endeavour to think about ways to think about mathematics,a workshop by UK-based mathematics professional Angela Norman was organised at the British Library on Sunday. The workshop was based on mental mathematics, problem solving and investigation where nearly 40 teachers from different schools of Chandigarh,Ambala and Parwanoo participated.
The main focus of the workshop was to generate creativity in the class by the teachers through various activities like number flashcards and shape games, which will provide an opportunity for the students to learn a new way of solving the difficult equations.
