A day after Haryana Director General of Police Rajiv Dalal instructed all police commissioners, inspector generals and superintendents of police to identify and settle land dispute cases in the state,a 50-yr-old man was brutally battered to death by his two brothers in Sirsa.

The incident took place late Monday night,in Khariya village. Ramjilal was killed by his brothers Laxmi Narayan and Om Prakash in full public view. According to investigating officials,Ramjilal was possessing 11 acres ancestral land in the village. His brothers Laxmi Narayan and Om Prakash wanted a share of those 11 acres and were having a long pending dispute with Ramjilal for many years.

“Ramjilal was not having cordial relations with his two brothers, thus had refused to part with the ancestral land,of which he claimed he was the sole owner, which his brothers did not approve of and had a tiff with him, late last night,” said sub-inspector Jagdish Joshi.

The brothers hit Ramjilal with hockey sticks. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
