Magic in the air

It’s celebration time,and taking full advantage of it,Sujoy Ghosh along with the cast and crew of Eros International’s upcoming family entertainer ‘Aladin’ launched the music of the film. The occasion saw Big B,Riteish Deshmukh,Jacqueline Fernandez,Sahil Khan,Sunil Lulla of Eros International,executive director Eros International Biren Ghose, music directors Vishal-Shekhar and singers Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan.

“Aladin is a bold attempt from Eros to tell a classic story in a refreshing style with visual effects and production values that hopefully Indian audiences have never seen before. We have believed in Sujoy’s vision for the film on how he wants to blend fantasy with reality. The characters and simplicity of the storyline should appeal to every age – young children,youth as well as family audiences. Fun,romance,comedy,good versus evil,great music from Vishal Shekhar and an impressive ensemble of cast led by Amitabh Bachchan,Sanjay Dutt,Riteish Deshmukh and debutante Jacqueline Fernandez make Aladin a special treat for all,” said Lulla.

Aladin is the story of a young boy and his adventures along with genie and Jasmine played by Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez. The evil Ring master is played by Sanjay Dutt. A contemporary look at the classic fairy tale,Aladin has Riteish playing the title character,someone who faces ridicule at every stage of his life because he shares his name with the protagonist of the famous fairy-tale. Ritiesh is a shy man,constantly bullied,and secretly in love with his classmate Jasmine. One day,through a twist of fate,the incredible ‘Genius’ (Genie) lands up in his life and all hell breaks loose for Aladin. The genie refuses to leave Aladin alone and follows him everywhere,unwilling to leave without granting him three wishes! But hey,there’s a villain too – an ultra-cool and uber-evil magician Ringmaster who uses a magic mirror to ‘Google’ Aladin. He wants to kill Aladin,take back the lamp and reclaim his powers (for even Ringmaster was once a genie). The movie is produced by Eros International in association with Sujoy Ghosh’s production company Boundscript. It’ll hit the screens on October 30.
