Alliance Francaise Chandigarh celebrated Fete De La Musique on the evening of June 21. A festival of music,the programme began with Naman Bhatia dancing to a hip-hop number while Amrit Kaur and Karishma enthralled the audience with their kathak. This was followed children dancing to a French song ‘Le raga des Penguins’ and a classical dance by Manvi. “Music binds us together because it has no language or boundaries,” said Sahira Bhullar,who was part of the audience. Ajaipal Singh Mann,a participant added,“I’m a guitar player and the sound of good music makes my feet tap.” The jazz band ‘The Lost Elephant Theory’ also performed. The fest ended with some groovy music by DJ Hobby Jaskiran,also a student of Alliance and Sagar.

Music on the Move
To celebrate World Music Day,Idea has started ‘Idea Music Week’ — a mobile-based singing contest to identify young music talent from across Punjab and give them an opportunity to perform alongside renowned singers Raj Brar and Preet Harpal. Winners will get a chance to perform in the artists’ forthcoming video albums.
