Union Minister of Law H R Bhardwaj is manipulating cases and facilitating anti-sikh riot accused in their acquittals, said counsel for the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee,H S Phoolka,on Saturday, while making a scathing attack on the Congress government for allegedly pressurising the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Addressing a press conference,Phoolka said: There were 123 cases of anti-sikh riots on in three different courts in Delhi which were transferred with a single judge by the law minister. The accused in 121 cases have been acquitted and those in the remaining two have been given very minor punishments..
Phoolka claimed the CBI has succumbed under the governments pressure and has given a clean chit to Jagdish Tytler, who was accused of inciting a mob against Sikhs after the assassination of Indira Gandhi.
The advocate further demanded immediate filing of the chargesheet against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar. The CBI has admitted that the chargesheet against Kumar is ready. Why are they not submitting it in the court? Are they waiting for the elections to end or making an attempt to save the leader? he asked.
He said the committee would contest in the court against the cancellation of the CBI report against Tytler. It was a secret report with the CBI. How did Tytler get to know about it? It is a clear signal that the Congress has played a role and Tytler was aware of the clean chit well in advance, Phoolka said.
