Ladies’ Special

If women are known for their exhaustive conversation skills, then the Carmel Ex-Student Association Nite was a testament to that.

If women are known for their exhaustive conversation skills, then the Carmel Ex-Student Association (CESA) Nite was a testament to that. The annual alumnae get-together saw the former students of the all-girls convent school relive old friendships and rejoice with batchmates at The Toy Hotel in Sector 34 this weekend. With over 200 ex-Carmelites in attendance, some with spouses and guests, the party ran to a full house where nostalgia was the unsaid theme. Pranks in school and strict teachers were discussed with pride. “It was nice to meet up with long lost friends from our batch and acquaintances from school,” remarked Gayatri Suri,city-based director,Eco and Agro Resource Management who was accompanied by Daphy Brar from the University Institute of Fashion Technology,Panjab University. The two were appreciative of CESA’s aim to keep friends together over the years.

Keeping the ladies company and on their feet was a live band headed by singer Purbhi. Despite the chill, the attendance on the lawns was not lean as the ladies made cozy groups around the bonfire. The multi-cuisine menu packed in Indian,Continental,Mongolian and Chinese spreads. “The batch of 1960 was very active on the dance floor and was seen shaking a leg with the students who passed out from the school last year,” said Dr Winkle Bedi, who like the other executive members sported a pink scarf around her neck. Others in attendance included lawyers Mona Markanda,Mac Sareen and wife Niti Sareen, teachers Nidhi Saxena and Shivani Marwaha and businesswoman Gauri Khanna. “We are now planning a marathon that will be held on February 12 and a blood donation camp on a later date,” informed CESA president Parvinder Singh.
